On Sunday, May 1, Bettye was asked to perform I Can’t Stop Loving You at the Country Music Hall Of Fame’s induction of Ray Charles. We were both surprised that he was not already in it. It was a beautiful night.

We flew home the next day, and then flew to Memphis, where she received her 2020 Blues Music Hall of Fame induction in person. Mike Kappus, of Rosebud fame (amongst many other accomplishments) performed the induction. Bettye’s speech was heart felt, and grown men were seen tearing up as she spoke. I shot a phone video for posterity, which is attached here. Note the disclaimers in the video description!

And after an allnighter, she had a 6am flight to NOLA for an appearance at Jazzfest, EARLY this evening!
There’s no stopping her!
